EFT Tapping: The Morse Code of Energy
What is EFT Tapping?:
EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) or EFT tapping, simply stated, is an emotional version of acupuncture except without the use of needles. Instead, you stimulate key
energy meridian points
on your face and body by tapping on them with your fingertips. The mechanical process is easy to memorize and you can do it anywhere. The seeming simplicity of the tapping process makes is hard to believe that such amazing results can be achieved with this tool. Of course there is much more to EFT tapping than just the physical tapping sequence. Visit
EFT Learning
to acquaint yourself with the short-cut version of the EFT sequence.
Emotional Freedom Techniques includes more advanced techniques and usages like The Movie Technique, The Story Telling Technique, Borrowing Benefits, Personal Peace Procedure, Breathing Technique, and more. These help clear energy disruptions associated with negative emotions that anchor core underlying traumas, negative beliefs and self images that show up as problems and suffering. To gain hands-on experience consider taking our
EFT seminars.
The EFT discovery statement is, "The cause of all negative emotions is the disruption of the body's energy system." To understand how emotions get trapped and block, or disrupt, the body's energy system go to,
How does EFT work?
However, even a newcomer can see how effective EFT is just by trying it on a problem that is specific and doing it properly. Great technical skill is not involved. What is necessary is the turning of our attention to the present moment and the courage to look inward into the world of emotions and beliefs. It is an inward journey of excavating old, non-serving thought patterns, reactions and self-made images and letting them go. From my perspective, it is a search for truth and Self discovery, one that we often resist.
EFT Tapping History
EFT tapping was born in 1991. Gary Craig developed it after having been trained by Dr. Roger Callahan in Thought Field Therapy (TFT). In 1980, Dr. Callahan discovered the beginning of TFT literally by accident. He had been trying to help a client clear an intense phobia of water with traditional therapy without success, and he happened to be sitting with her a few yards away from a swimming pool, when it occurred to him to have her tap under her eye with her fingertips. He was remembering that this point fell on the stomach acupuncture meridian point. To his great amazement, the client jumped out of her chair and ran to the pool no longer afraid of the water. Her phobia never returned. Dr. Callahan then investigated this occurrence and developed Thought Field Therapy.Gary paid thousands of dollars to be trained by Dr. Callahan. What he did then was decide that the order of the tapping was not necessarily so important and included all the EFT tapping points into what he called "The Basic EFT Recipe". In 1999 Gary made EFT tapping affordable and available to the world via the internet. He offered the EFT Handbook free to the public (note: it is no longer available as a free download). He also published his EFT Library Training Videos and offered them for sale at his "emofree" website (note: they are no longer available for purchase only for rent. See links below). Gary emphasizes, “I am neither a psychologist nor a licensed therapist. Rather, I am a Stanford engineering graduate and an ordained minister and, although we don't pound the table for God here, I do come at this procedure from a decidedly spiritual perspective. My ordained ministry is with the Universal Church of God in Southern California which is non-denominational and embraces all religions. I am an avid student of A Course In Miracles but at no time is any EFT'er asked to follow any specific spiritual teaching. I was born April 13, 1940 and have been intensely interested in personal improvement via psychology since age13. That was when I recognized that the quality of my thoughts was mirrored in the quality of my life. Since then I have been self taught in this field, seeking only those procedures that, in my opinion, produced results. EFT is my latest finding, the core of which I learned from Dr.Roger Callahan. I also have high regard for Neuro Linguistic Programming(NLP) in which I am a Certified Master Practitioner."
The great contribution that Gary has made to what he called the "Healing High Rise", that is just beginning to be built, is not yet fully recognized or appreciated by the general public, but I am positive it will be in the future. My deep gratitude goes to him and his work of love. Gary Craig unexpectedly retired in 2010. Gary, along with his daughter Tina Craig, had just taken over the training and academic certification of the EFT Practitioners when he decided to retire due to health concerns. He moved most of what was on his website, including a listing of Certified EFT Practitioners to www.eftuniverse.com, which is headed by Church Dawson, who has been heading EFT research to try to get EFT accepted into VA Hospitals where it is desperately needed.
I invite you to purchase the movie, The Answer, to watch for yourself the amazing change that occurs as it is applied by qualified EFT Practitioners to PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder).
